Erin Gore is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Garden Society, a cannabis confection company started in early 2016. Erin also helps run Gore Family Vineyards, a boutique winery nestled in Healdsburg, Sonoma County.
What was your biggest discovery in 2017?
My biggest discovery in 2017 was the value of a strong team to truly enable business growth. With the birth of my first son, it became quickly apparent that the value of my team to share the workload is essential to my business success and happiness.
What hurdles did you face in 2017, and how did you navigate them?
Cannabis legalization is an ever-changing landscape. We had to maintain our business flexibility, while moving forward with our growth plans to enable us to set up for a successful adult use landscape. We engaged with local politicians and state representatives to provide our input into the policies that were being written in real-time.
What is getting you pumped up for 2018?
The legalization of the industry is really exciting, and we are excited to introduce cannabis to new consumers who may not have been open to it previously.
When you’re not thinking about business, what occupies your daydreams?
My new son, Thomas.
