Since 2000, Amazon has made its virtual shelf space available so small and medium-sized businesses can reach hundreds of millions of customers, build their brands, and grow their business. In fact, products sold by small and medium-sized businesses account for more than half of all units sold in Amazon online stores! [1]

Of course, COVID-19 created daunting challenges for small and medium-sized businesses around the world. Customers changed buying habits and many companies had to curtail their operations or close. Yet Amazon’s selling partners continued to grow with Amazon, despite the crisis. 

From April 1, 2020, through March 31, 2021, during peak pandemic months, Amazon’s U.S. selling partners sold more than 3.7 billion products, averaging 7,200 products sold every minute. And in June 2021, Amazon launched its Black Business Accelerator to help build sustainable equity and growth for Black entrepreneurs by positioning them as successful sellers in Amazon’s store.

And it’s not just Amazon’s selling partners – nearly all of whom are small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) – that are thriving. Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud solutions are also helping SMBs, startups, and partners launch and scale their businesses.

Running from September 7-24, each week brings a new step-by-step guide to help you get the most out of all Amazon offers. Week 1: Build Your Brand on Amazon
